Biophilia and a Camera




Edward O. Wilson is the man recognised as the father of the biophilia hypothesis, a theory which suggests that humans possess an innate tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life. Whether or not all humans hold this rather uncharacteristically harmonious quality is a matter of some contention; however, the thesis does accurately describe me. My name is Western King, and I am a completely unremarkable human specimen with an irrational urge to in search of a ‘connection’ of my own, and a good photo too.

The histogram’s real power reveals itself when dealing with things that one cannot see in ‘live view’; when it helps guide exposure decisions that may otherwise be counterintuitive.
